A little insight into how Sharon's unique custom-made wedding dress came to be

It is with great pleasure that we finally unveil the fascinating impressions from Sharon and Paul's wedding. About a year ago, we began the remarkable journey of guiding Sharon through the development of her unique wedding dress.

As a renowned wedding planner, Sharon is not only well-known, but also a long-time personal acquaintance of mine and my team. Therefore, I was extremely honored to be given the opportunity to design and tailor her custom gown. Sharon excels not only in her excellent organizational skills, but also in her exquisite taste and strong aesthetic sensibilities. Not to mention her charming personality and extremely pleasant charisma.

The wedding celebration itself was undoubtedly of superior elegance. The captures of the event in the picturesque Tuscany, more precisely in the breathtaking ambiance of La Pescaia, convey a romantic and relaxed atmosphere. The decoration concept blended minimalism with warmth and coziness, accentuated by modern elements. Words alone can hardly capture the fascination of this outstanding design concept – a glance at the pictures is necessary.

The photographers behind these captures are The Saums, an extremely talented photographer duo who, for good reason, capture every one of my collections. Pia and Christian are masters at capturing the perfect moment and aesthetic nuances.

THE DRESSES (plural)

The creation process began about a year before the wedding when Sharon entered our atelier. With clear ideas of her dream dress, she laid the foundation for an exceptional custom piece. A semi-transparent corset dress with refined soft tulle drapery in a fit-and-flare cut, detachable long sleeves, and an elegant train. Sharon set the design framework and gave me creative leeway for precise execution.

And so the creation began...

First, I developed the structural foundation on which the entire dress was built. For a dress of this kind, the fit is of paramount importance. The initial fittings aimed to ensure the perfect fit. For this purpose, I created a prototype that matched Sharon's body shape. During these sessions, we already draped some soft tulle over it to determine the ideal shade for the corset construction fabric composition.

Through numerous fittings and countless hours in the atelier, the design gradually took shape step by step. In the upper part of the dress, I used a couture draping technique to place the delicate tulle into artistically folded structures. The layers of tulle overlap, creating an impressive 3D pattern. Each layer was individually hand-sewn.

For the skirt, I placed particular emphasis on achieving a seamless connection to the bodice. In total, around a hundred meters of soft tulle were used.

The long sleeves were designed to be detachable and attached to the corset using snap buttons.

A true highlight of the ensemble was the long veil. All in all, it resulted in a breathtaking look that perfectly represented Sharon. Stella, who created Sharon's breathtaking makeup and hairstyle, works in the same premises as us, allowing Sharon to try on the complete outfit with styling before the wedding.

For the welcome evening, Sharon fell in love with our Wasted Dress – a 100% sustainable mini dress, crafted from fabric scraps from our own production. The precious silk pieces are hand-cut into strips and sewn onto an illusion tulle base in countless hours in the atelier… Additionally there are around 100 covered buttons stitched on top of the visible seams for that certain extra extra.

We made slight modifications to the bust area and employed a similar technique as in her main dress. The result was an absolute eye-catcher and an unusual fashion statement that is rarely seen at conventional weddings.

For her party dress, Sharon chose our Yaiza Gown in combination with the Nada Top. A sleek slip dress with spaghetti straps and a topper made of soft tulle, which added a modern touch to the ensemble. The floor-length dress without a train and with a relaxed silhouette allowed for unrestricted dancing into the late night.

Already in the preparation stage, Sharon told me about her search for a floor-length morning robe. After an unsuccessful search, I decided on the spot to create a custom robe for her – a decision that undoubtedly paid off!

In total, Sharon wore four individually crafted dresses by Ritual Unions on her big day. Each design was a unique masterpiece, perfectly tailored to her measurements. For me, it was an exceptional honor and a clear sign of Sharon's trust. In all these designs, she provided me with broad guidelines while allowing me to incorporate my creative expertise and design freedom.

Sharon's mother and grandmother also appeared in custom-made creations by Ritual Unions that withstood a small rain shower. Her mother wore our Freddie Jumpsuit made of silk in a delicately shimmering greige shade, completely made to her measurements. Her grandmother opted for an elegant dove grey combination of the Shiro Pants and a top tailored to her preferences.

I am still overwhelmed by this extraordinary wedding and deeply grateful for the opportunity to dress these three remarkable women.
Dear Sharon, your presence was absolutely captivating, and I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for this amazing experience and your trust. It's a shame that weddings are a one-time affair. Without a doubt, this wedding has set my designer's heart racing.

Endlich ist es soweit und wir dürfen die wunderschönen Bilder von Sharon und Paul’s Hochzeit zeigen. Ungefähr ein Jahr ist es nun schon her, Sharon beim Prozess der Entwicklung ihres einzigartigen Brautkleides zu begleiten.

Sharon ist Hochzeitsplanerin und wir kennen uns schon lange persönlich. Daher war es eine große Ehre für mich, ihr Kleid designen und anfertigen zu dürfen. Sharon ist meiner Meinung nach nicht nur die geborene Planerin was ihre organisatorischen Fähigkeiten angeht, sondern hebt sich vor allem durch ihren exquisiten Geschmack und Sinn für Ästhetik ab. Ganz abgesehen von ihrer bezaubernden Art und unfassbar angenehmen Ausstrahlung.

Natürlich war die Hochzeit phänomenal. Als ich die Bilder zum ersten Mal sah, konnte ich gar nicht aufhören, sie mir anzusehen. Die Feier fand in der bildschönen Toskana statt in der atemberaubenden Location La Pescaia, die für eine romantische und relaxte Atmosphäre sorgte. Das Konzept der Dekoration war minimalistisch, aber warm und gemütlich abgerundet mit modernen Elementen. Worte reichen nicht aus dieses tolle Designkonzept zu beschreiben, deshalb muss man sich die Bilder anschauen.

Die Fotografen waren The Saums, ein unglaublich talentiertes Fotografenpaar die nicht grundlos auch jede meiner Kollektionen fotografieren. Pia und Christian haben ein scharfes Gespür für den richtigen Moment und Ästhetik.

Der Entstehungsprozess

Ca. ein Jahr von der Hochzeit hatte Sharon den ersten Termin bei uns. Sie wusste schon genau, was sie wollte und es war von Anfang an klar, es wird eine ganz besondere Einzelanfertigung. So viel stand fest. Ein semi-transparentes Korsagenkleid, mit feinstem Softtüll-Drapierungen in Fit&Flare Schnitt mit langen, abnehmbaren Ärmeln und einer langen Schleppe. Das waren Sharon’s Vorgaben und bei der genauen Umsetzung hat sie mir kreativen Freiraum gegeben.

So fing alles an…

Als erstes habe ich die Konstruktion entwickelt. Die Basis des Kleides sozusagen, auf die alles weitere aufbaut. Die Passform ist bei einem Kleid dieser Art das A und O. Beim ersten Fitting ging es also in erster Linie, darum, dass alles passt. Dafür habe ich einen Prototypen angefertigt, der auf Sharon’s Körperform abgesteckt wurde. Dabei haben wir schon mal ein wenig Softtüll darüber drapiert um uns für den richtigen Farbton für die Korsagenkonstruktion zu entscheiden.

Im weiteren Verlauf der Fittings und vieler vieler Stunden im Atelier ist so, Schritt für Schritt, das Design entstanden. Im oberen Bereich des Kleides habe ich eine Drapierungstechnik aus der Couture verwendet und den feinen Tüll in kleinen Falten gelegt. Die Stofflagen überlappen sich dabei, sodass ein 3-D-Muster entsteht. Die Stofflagen werden dabei einzeln per Hand angenäht.

Den Rock wollte ich so gestalten, dass er organisch aus dem Oberteil übergeht. Insgesamt haben wir ca. hundert Meter Softtüll verarbeitet.

Die langen Ärmel sind abnehmbar und mit Druckknöpfen an der Korsage befestigt.

Getoppt hat das Outfit der lange Schleier. Alles in allem ein atemberaubender Look, der perfekt zu Sharon passt. Stella, die für Sharon das Make Up kreiert hat und die Haare gestylt hat, arbeitet in den selben Räumlichkeiten wie wir, sodass Sharon beim Probetermin auch ihr Kleid dazu anziehen konnte und wir sogar schon vor der Hochzeit den Komplettlook bestaunen durften.

Für den Welcome Abend hat sich Sharon in unser Wasted Dress verliebt. Das ist ein 100 % nachhaltiges Minikleid, das aus Stoffresten aus unserer eigenen Produktion gefertigt ist. Die wertvollen Seidenstücke werden dafür in Streifen geschnitten, die per Hand an eine Basis aus Illusion Tüll genäht werden. Für Sharon haben wir den Brustbereich ein wenig abgeändert und eine ähnliche Technik wie bei ihrem Kleid für die Zeremonie verwendet. Das Kleid war ein absoluter Hingucker und ein wirkliches Fashion Statement, das man selten auf Hochzeiten sieht.

Ihr Party-Kleid war unser Yaiza Gown kombiniert mit dem Nada Top. Ein sleekes Slipdress mit Spaghetti Trägern und einem Topper aus Softtüll, der dem ganzen Outfit Modernität verleiht. In dem bodenlangen Kleid ohne Schleppe und dem lässigem Schnitt ließ es sich ohne Zweifel die ganze Nacht tanzen.

Beim Getting Ready hatte sich Sharon von Anfang an einen bodenlangen Morgenmantel gewünscht. Nach langer, erfolgloser Suche, habe ich ihr kurzerhand einen angefertigt - und wow, das hat sich gelohnt!

Im Ganzen trug Sharon also vier Kleider von Ritual Unions und jedes einzelne ein ganz besonderes Unikat und auf ihre Maße geschnitten. Was für eine Ehre für mich und Vertrauensbeweis von Sharon. Bei allen vier Entwürfen hat mir Sharon nur grobe Richtungen, bei allem weiteren konnte ich meiner Kreativität freien Lauf lassen.

Auch Sharon’s Mutter und Oma trugen Ritual Unions an dem großen Tag. Für die Mama gab es unseren Freddie Jumpsuit aus Seide in einem wunderschönen, zart schimmernden Greige-Ton. Die Oma entschied sich für ein elegantes Taubengrau für ihre Kombination aus der Shiro Pants und einem Oberteil nach ihren Wünschen.

Ich bin immer noch total geflasht von dieser unglaublichen Hochzeit und bin unendlich dankbar, drei so tolle Frauen ausstatten zu dürfen. Liebe Sharon, du sahst unfassbar gut aus und ich danke dir von ganzen Herzen für diese tolle Zeit und dein Vertrauen. Schade, dass man nur einmal heiratet. Diese Hochzeit hat auf jeden Fall mein Designerherz höher schlagen lassen.
